YEAR 8 REPORT:
I would like to thank all our Year 8 teaching team for their efforts over the last two weeks in supporting the finalisation of reports for students. Our staff play a crucial role in reporting learning progress to parents. It is our hope the regular communication helps parents stay informed about their child's academic achievements and challenges, allowing them to provide necessary support at home and to work with us in collaboration at KMHS.
The benefits of teachers and parents working together are significant when enhancing learning outcomes. This partnership creates a unified approach to education, where both parties can share insights and strategies to support a student's development. It also strengthens the relationship between home and school, promoting a sense of community and shared responsibility for success.
With our Kings Meadows High School Open Evening being held last night, we look forward to working further with parents and students to share learning progress across the various subjects on offer here while strengthening partnerships between home and school. We hope this collaboration fosters a stronger understanding of each students needs and encourages a positive learning environment both at school and home while promoting a better understanding of the various curriculum element being taught across the year group.
Before concluding this article, I would like to thank Charlotte Hammond for writing about her current learning in Drama for this newsletter and hope that you continue to enjoy the articles written by students, gaining further insight into learning across subjects presented through student voice.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all the Year 8 teaching staff for their hard work and dedication throughout Term 2. Their efforts have made a meaningful impact this term. I wish all parents and students a well-deserved break during the Term 2 holidays and look forward to talking with you more during our Open Evening this week.
WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN DRAMA?
Charlotte Hammond
In Drama, fellow students have been doing a play about Captain Abdul’s Little Treasure. This play is about a treasure chest bombing onto Captain Abdul’s ship and it turns out there was a baby in the treasure chest. So, the pirates call him little treasure and take care of him like he’s part of the crew. It is a fantastic play because everyone is enjoying it while bonding with new people and coming out of their comfort zone to perform. I know I have been really enjoying this play as I have been challenged to grow and perform in new ways while learning new things.
This play has improved immensely as we have been working on it for the past three to four weeks and working hard in preparation of sharing the play in front of others. I am excited to share this play and show off all our hard work in the future. Everyone in this play has committed themselves. I have made new friendships and have discovered that I have built my confidence through Drama. In Drama everybody has learned lines so quickly and really got into this play. When we share this play with others, I want people to understand how much effort we have all put into it and the lines we had to learn to memory just so we can share it with others.
